“I have been reluctant to go to talks on parenting because I’ve always thought of my parenting journey as a deeply personal and unique process. There has also been an unconscious bias in my head, steeped in an unspoken cultural norm - previous generations have parented without taking any classes, so why the need for parenting coaches and classes now? But when I saw the topic of Patricia’s conscious parenting class, which was focused on identifying our triggers in parenting, it made me pause and think: what were my triggers, and how could I be aware of them to parent more consciously? I signed up for the class, not quite knowing what to expect. Just a few minutes in, I appreciated how Patricia gave an important disclaimer- she was not here to tell us how to parent. This was exactly what I needed to hear. She then cultivated a safe space for all of us to share without judgment and began the process of vulnerability by sharing an anecdote from her own childhood."
